As you would expect from the Four Seasons, the staff is wonderful.

Most of the villas have views of the South China Sea and are all decorated in a modern, sensual Asian style.

There are two notable restaurants here. Nam Hai Cafe offers Western and Indian cuisine and the lantern-lit Vietnamese restaurant La Sen. However, one of the most rewarding dining experiences is cooking your own food at the hotel’s culinary academy.

The hotel is a 45-minute drive from Da Nang Airport and a three-hour drive through the scenic Hai Van Pass from the imperial city of Hue. It is located on the banks of the river, just a 5-minute walk from the attractive shops, markets, eateries and historic buildings of Hoi An’s UNESCO-protected Old Quarter, and a leisurely 20-minute bike ride to the beach.

Rooms and suites are decorated in a French colonial style, with terracotta tiled roofs and open passageways. They are located in two- and three-story houses of pastel colors, scattered in lush gardens. Spacious, bright and concise, split-level rooms and suites are decorated in neutral tones, with tiled floors and glossy wooden furniture. A series of steps and a balustrade separate the living room from the bedroom, which features a queen-size bed covered in white linens, with silk pillows and lampshades adding pops of color.

There is no shortage of restaurants. A quick breakfast buffet is served at Lanterns Restaurant on the first floor, where you can linger at a table overlooking the river, enjoying premium pastries, fresh juice, assorted meats and made-to-order eggs, or a smoky plate of Vietnamese pho.

Light snacks such as crepes, salads and pizzas can be enjoyed at Reflections Pool Bar or afternoon tea at Hoi An Riverside Restaurant. Here, the dinner menu focuses on local dishes such as the legendary kao lau noodles, alongside steaks and seafood. This is the perfect place for a cocktail.

The hotel is located in a 39-story building on Times Square in the heart of District 1, the business and tourist center of Ho Chi Minh City. The lobby faces Nguyen Hue Boulevard, the main pedestrian street. The hotel’s main restaurant offers a large buffet of hot dishes of European and Chinese cuisine, assorted meats and cheeses, fruits and eggs prepared in any imaginable way.

The resort feels like it’s a million kilometers away from civilization, perched on a remote cliff along the rugged coastline of Vietnam’s Nui Chua National Park. In fact, it’s a scenic 70-minute drive from Cam Ranh International Airport, which is the main gateway to the popular resort town of Nha Trang (a two-hour drive away). Upon arrival, two flights of substantial stairs lead guests to the temple-like Central Pavilion, where the climb is rewarded with magnificent bird’s-eye views of the ocean and resort. The service is exceptional in every way, from the smiling staff who greet you by name and know your preferences without even asking, to the thoughtful bedtime gift (local coffee, handmade soap) by the bed in your room every night.

The resort is centered around its Aman SPA: a lotus-filled lake bordered by several treatment rooms, hydrotherapy rooms and a large exercise and pilates area. The lakeside yoga pavilion offers free morning classes, and guests can participate in immersive wellness programs with a constantly changing roster of world-renowned experts. Serious SPA lovers should book one of the two SPA houses with private hammams, plunge pools and professional therapists. Guests who don’t want to sit still can take advantage of two swimming pools, a tennis court, a private beach and a variety of water sports to choose from.

Each villa and pavilion has a large open plan with a king-size bed, a sitting area and a bathroom with two vanities and a separate shower arranged in perfect symmetry. A private wooden sundeck runs its entire length, offering views of either Vinhhi Bay or the surrounding hillside. The villas feature large heated pools and all rooms are completely surrounded by latticed windows and layers of greenery to ensure complete privacy.

There are 2 restaurants: the beach club is open for lunch, snacks and drinks by the pool, and the central pavilion serves breakfast to dinner. Both menus feature dishes from around the world. Everything is fresh, light and filled with local flavor.

A leather-trimmed Mercedes interior whisks guests from the airport to the sleepy town of Quy Nhon in about 40 minutes.

It’s all about romantic beach luxury. Service comes in a whisper; the loudest sound is the lapping of the waves. And villas offer integration with nature. Oversized windows (in bedrooms and bathrooms), outdoor showers and sundecks with private plunge pools make you feel part of the beach and bay landscape. Yet each villa is secluded from all but the magnificent views with wooden shutters and green foliage.

Tours (through ruins, local market or snorkeling) are selected individually for each guest. And private martial arts classes on the beach are a revelation.

Development accommodation in one or two bedroom villas set in their own tropical garden right on the beach or a few minutes walk up the hillside.

They open onto decks with a small pool and a great view of the islet-studded bay. The bathrooms, decorated with stone and honey-colored marble, have huge mirrors, luxurious jacuzzis and open-air showers.

Sea Fire Salt Restaurant serves Vietnamese and international seafood dishes. The wine list is excellent, about 140 bottles. Breakfast is served according to the menu.

The fishing village of Muine is located on a sandy promontory surrounded by rolling dunes. To the south stretches a long beach with a strip of hotels in one street. The Con Dao Islands comprise 16 landmasses that form a national and marine park, an hour’s flight from Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel is located on the south coast of Kon Son Island, and its villas are either on the beach or a few minutes’ walk from the coast.

The resort is designed to mimic a traditional Vietnamese fishing village. It has its own precise high street, surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars.

Each villa is made of wood, and many are split-level, with the bedroom, living room and bathroom spread over two levels.

There are 3 restaurants in total. The fishing village has a Vietnamese market serving all summer rolls, pho and Asian salads; down the beach is By the Beach, the fanciest option, offering an extensive tasting menu as well as international classics, mostly made with fresh-caught seafood. Delicious is a place to buy snacks and takeout. There is an ice cream shop on the main street with unlimited daily servings of ice cream for all guests.

The hotel is set around its own bay across the water from the bustling resort town of Nha Trang. It is 35 kilometers from the nearest international airport (Kamran) to the Six Senses pier – from there a boat will take you to the hotel.

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay was designed with the ultimate goal of privacy and seclusion: the resort is located in such a way that you will rarely see other guests except in the restaurants or around the pool. The rooms are designed as autonomous wooden villas with rustic romantic decor, hidden in different places of the rocky peninsula.

Getting to the farthest villa with a pool on the water is quite a feat and not for the faint of heart. The decor is simple (as the scenery suggests) but stylish and luxurious: the rooms are carved from wood, with large beds, TVs and luxurious bedding. Some have bathtubs with sea views and private pools built into boulders. Others have direct access to sandy shores; or kitchens and multiple bedrooms for groups and families.

Most of the products of the resort are grown in large cities. The restaurants are helpfully named according to their location, making them easy to find: Dining by the Bay, overlooking the water, is popular for its diverse menu (dishes range from spicy Asian salads to slices of Australian wagyu). Dining by the Pool is a barefoot, beachside option for casual dining. The trendiest is Dining by the Rocks, perched high on a cliff and offering fine dining with Southeast Asian flavors.

For special occasions, the wine cellar can be transformed into a boutique restaurant for two; and when walking the common areas seems too tiring, room service with woven food backpacks is a welcome treat.

Surrounded by the crystal green waters of Emerald Bay, this large beach resort is located on the white sandy shores of Khem Beach on Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island, just off the coast of Cambodia. It is about a 20-30 minute drive from Phu Quoc International Airport and Duong Dong, the nearest main local town with a night market, restaurants and bars.
