This adults-only hotel is set amidst subtropical greenery in a secluded location between the mountains and the ocean. At the center of several Spanish colonial-style buildings are two lagoon pools. Between them are cozy areas with sun loungers and sun beds. There is complete tranquility here, supported by birdsong coming from behind clusters of palm trees and bougainvillea.

All 117 rooms have balconies or garden terraces, as well as sitting areas and dressing rooms. Suites have separate living rooms, and some have outdoor hot tubs. The modern colonial furnishings come in a white, brown and beige palette.

Situated in a tranquil location overlooking the championship golf course nearby, the luxury villas allow you to admire nature away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.

Pale pastel colors, fabrics and subtropical greenery outside, expensive Asian chic inside. Everything here is thoughtfully designed, from the subdued lighting and array of ethnic artifacts to the trickling stone fountains, descending curtains of ferns and jasmine-scented pathways.

In addition to private swimming areas, there’s a communal infinity pool in front of the palm-shaded reception area, lining the beach hut-style bar. There’s also a spectacular spa with thalassotherapy pool, gym and squash court.

Each of the 28 huge villas is furnished as if it were a high-end royal suite. The décor and furnishings are more reminiscent of East Asia than the Canaries. Each single or double-storey villa has its own kitchen, outdoor pool and expansive terrace.

The intimate Jardín restaurant serves fine evening meals of both international and regional cuisine, such as black Canarian pork and langoustines baked in flambé. Caviar also features prominently and the restaurant has an extensive wine cellar. Once a week, al fresco dining is organized around the communal pool at sunset.

Overlooking Playa Fañabe Beach, this family-run hotel is located in an upscale residential area of Costa Adeje and offers many leisure options. The Plaza del Duque shopping center is a two-minute walk away, boat trips from the port of Puerto Colon are a five-minute walk away, and two golf courses are an eight-minute drive away.

A row of neighboring buildings surrounded by palm trees and lawns allows for plenty of secluded spots, among which are children’s clubs and other facilities. This manages to maintain a wonderful sense of tranquility that is often hard to find in larger family-friendly hotels, and the three outdoor pools provide the only sound noise that rivals that of the ocean waves. Other discreet amenities include a Thai-inspired spa, fitness center and theater room, as well as padel and tennis courts. The hotel staff is friendly and very attentive, especially to children.

The 367 bright and spacious pine-paneled and furnished rooms are uncluttered. All have balconies with ocean or garden views, as well as sitting areas and bathrooms with gorgeous rain showers.

Renovated in 2020 after a thorough head-to-toe refurbishment, the Y-shaped brutalist building was designed in the 1970s by renowned Spanish architect Fernando Higueras. At its center is a lush garden with water features, designed by renowned Lanzarote artist César Manrique, and it was the first 5-star hotel on the island. The highlight is the meandering lagoon pool, modeled after one of Manrique’s earlier creations (Jameos del Agua) and surrounded by hibiscus, palms, cacti, dragon trees, waterfalls and volcanic stone bridges.

From the huge saltwater pool (air-conditioned and open all year round), in which you will probably spend most of your time, there is direct access to several golden beaches, as well as a beach bar that is perfect for mojitos at sunset. On-site facilities include 3 tennis courts, an elegant restaurant serving Canarian cuisine, a spa (with sauna, hot tub and massage), a beauty center and a well-equipped gym.The exclusive Level area has its own private pool, Balinese beds, chic villas and all sorts of other extras.

Natural light pours into the 270 rooms, which have private terraces with sunbeds or loungers, decorated in a sophisticated style with white marble, neutral tones, artfully arranged mirrors and a cozy romantic atmosphere. Level rooms also have capsule coffee machines and suites have Bluetooth speakers. Meliá’s standard rooms overlook the beautiful tropical gardens, while Premium and Level rooms have ocean views, and there are also separate villas with private pools.

Decorated with original Manrique murals, cascading greenery and an open-plan kitchen, the all-day dining restaurant Mosaico is the gastronomic center of the hotel. It serves delicious light lunches and in the evenings themed buffet dinners of Mediterranean and international cuisine. Cocktails, freshly squeezed juices and Lanzarote wines are also available for sipping poolside.

This hotel is located on the edge of the town of Maspalomas. It is built on the site of an ancient palm grove and is adjacent to the Charca Lagoon, which attracts migratory birds traveling from Europe to Africa, as well as tourists escaping the bleak winter in their home country (high season runs from December to March). Even though it’s somewhat isolated from the rest of the island, it’s only a 5-minute walk to the beach.

Everything here is no higher than two floors – this style was invented by artist and architect César Manrique, trying to preserve the traditional atmosphere of the neighboring island of Lanzarote. A restaurant with terrace sits atop an orchid-adorned reception, lounge and library. The two-story whitewashed villas are decorated with colorful bougainvillea, the colonial-era interior designer chosen by Alberto Pinto. Although he himself grew up in Casablanca, he’s brought touches to the interior that are more in keeping with his Argentine heritage, including the use of teak wood and a stylish fountain in the reception area reminiscent of a bygone era.

If you choose a room on the top floor, you’ll have views of the dunes below and the mountainous terrain above. Double rooms on the first floor overlook the immaculately manicured 400 m² gardens.

The restaurant generally serves international cuisine with a few Canarian specialties and serves a set or á la carte dinner from 18:30 to 22:00 (except Wednesday and Sunday, when a barbecue buffet is served). The barbecue themes range from Moroccan gastronomy to Japanese delights such as king prawn tempura and Spanish dishes such as Russian truffle salad.

With direct access to Playa del Duque’s beachfront promenade through tiered lawned gardens, this mini-complex in the upmarket Costa Adeje neighborhood is a stone’s throw from chic shopping. Golf is just around the corner (two courses within a 10-minute drive), and airport transfers require no more than a 15-minute freeway ride.

Modeled after a 19th-century Spanish colonial village, each of the resort’s buildings is pastel pink and honey hues and symbolizes an architectural landmark in Spain.

The 346 rooms and 58 suites, while not huge, feature classic elegance, insanely comfortable beds, and balconies or terraces, most of which overlook the ocean. Bathrooms, meanwhile, are disappointingly simple. Suites in the revamped Casas Ducales neighborhood are more spacious and offer VIP amenities like an exclusive breakfast terrace and complimentary evening canapés and aperitifs. Additional amenities include 40 colonial-style villas with private pools and 24-hour butler service.

For the outdoor enthusiast there are tennis courts, 5 outdoor pools, a 24-hour gym and plenty of organized activities, while younger guests have a kids’ club, playgrounds and plenty of sandy paths at their doorstep.

There’s also a full-service spa, a star observatory and scenic paths through beautiful mature gardens. As the first truly luxurious resort hotel on the island, Bahia del Duque has set the bar for first-class service. The restaurants offer everything from fine French cuisine to nikkei cuisine and homemade burgers, all overseen by two Michelin-starred chefs.

The hotel’s expressive pink Moorish style blends well with the arid coastline, but the resort itself is set in vast expanses of lush garden, so there’s plenty of tropical vegetation to see, from palm trees and banana leaves to cacti and colorful flowers. The huge marble lobby, flanked by a bar, has a glass roof and leads to an attractive terrace (great for sunsets), from where you can access the sea through an archway in the center of the main hotel (called the Citadel), across a large carp pond and swimming pool.

There are plenty of places to relax around the hotel, and while it can be difficult to get around due to such a large area of the resort, this comes with a huge bonus: it’s never crowded (except perhaps the golf course, where people often congregate). Shuttle service around the resort is complimentary.

An award-winning spa and wellness center to revitalize mind and body, which uses ingredients from the Canary Islands. Europe’s largest Ritz Kids, its programs offer a variety of activities for children from toddlers to teenagers.

There’s a huge choice of restaurants, from Michelin-starred dining (the two-star Basque restaurant M.B. and one Japanese restaurant, Kabuki, are the hotel’s first Michelin-starred restaurants in Tenerife) to casual poolside dining. Martin Berasategui, chef at M.B., has another on-site restaurant, Txoko, which offers many interesting small dishes.

This spacious whitewashed building was Lanzarote’s first hotel, opened back in 1967, and it still bears traces of its former life. The star of the hotel is the infinity pool, surrounded by palm trees, next to which are 3 restaurants and a candlelit cocktail bar. Loungers are scattered in the gardens (one of which has 2 hot tubs overlooking the Atlantic) and paths lead directly to the beaches and promenade. Guests in the higher category rooms can also enjoy an exclusive rooftop pool and bar.

Natural light, blissful comfort and elegant island-style design fill the 213 rooms, which open onto spacious sun-drenched balconies with geometric patterned floors overlooking the pool or Playa Grande.

All stays include access to the Fariones Sports Complex, which has tennis courts, pools, exercise equipment and sauna, as well as yoga, Pilates and other activities.

You can enjoy breakfast on the garden terrace or in the stylish Bella Lucia restaurant. An 18th century lighthouse whose signal saved the lives of 97 British sailors in October 1942 after their battleship Pacific Star was sunk by a German submarine. The first floor was originally the home of the lighthouse keeper and his family. The keeper currently lives off-site, but if you’re lucky you may be able to observe his work during your stay here. The three rooms can accommodate a total of eight guests.

Co-owner Tim Wittenbecher explains that they hire local staff who know the area intimately. These are people so attached to the local community that they wouldn’t recognize a visiting celebrity. This is one way to make you feel like a celebrity. You can swim in the stunning infinity pool, 158 steps lead you to the Sky High mini-bar where a glass of wine produced by father and son Bodega El Durazno awaits you.

The restaurants, gardens and public areas have the atmosphere of the French Riviera in its celebrity heyday. Even the color of the public pool, surrounded by a wall of palm trees, is more reminiscent of a country house than a chlorinated azure. This theme continues in the villas, but with the addition of modern elements such as digital systems for opening curtains, controlling lighting and adjusting the temperature. The rooftop infinity pool offers spectacular views of the mountains and coastline to the south. All villas are beautifully decorated in gold, beige and white tones and feature living rooms with custom-made furniture and a rustic-chic atmosphere. Baobab Suites is located on a hilltop overlooking the coast and mountains of Costa Adeje. The nearest beach is Playa del Duque, which happens to be one of the best beaches in the south of the island. The Costa Adeje Golf Club and the world-class attractions at Siam Park are a five-minute drive away.

With gorgeous ocean and mountain views from the suites and their private pools, your vacationer will have no reason to leave the villa grounds. However, should the urge arise, the hotel offers plenty of activities including 3 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 communal pools, a small Ayurvedic spa and a large children’s playground. Staff service is in keeping with the atmosphere of the hotel as a whole: relaxed and friendly.

There is a beach sports club next to the hotel. It includes a gym, 4 padel courts, a Pilates studio with reformer machines and a large sandy area for volleyball and recreation. Outdoor spinning, yoga and other group activities are included.

The design of the suites is ultra-modern. They vary in size – from 1 to 4 bedrooms – but they all feature the same clean white and gray color scheme. Each has open-plan living areas, smart TVs in the living room and bedroom, and fully equipped state-of-the-art kitchens with breakfast bars. Some have huge terraces with hot tubs, private or communal pools and sandy sunbathing areas.

Sucás is the hotel’s signature restaurant, serving tasting menus of 8-10 courses of innovative Canarian cuisine. It’s a compact and cozy space and advance reservations are usually required.

The bright and cool BB Lounge, with its open door, has a yacht club atmosphere and offers particularly delicious cocktails. The trendy Fuel restobar in the hotel’s sports and wellness center across the street offers a fine selection of grilled fish and meat.

Located on the backside of the fishing village of La Caleta, which has become a gourmet’s paradise, this family-friendly hotel is the twin adults-only hotel of the Royal Hideaway Corales Beach. It’s a four-minute walk from the pebbly beach of La Enramada, a 15-minute walk from the immaculate sands of Playa del Duque, and a five-minute drive from Golf Costa Adeje.

The hotel’s exterior is minimalist, with walkways of concrete and glass leading you to a cavernous three-story lobby carved into volcanic rock. The tectonic walls are illuminated by light, and images of the island’s geology and coral life are projected onto the rock’s interior surface in ultra-large technical color. The mix of vintage and modern continues throughout much of the hotel: the old provides character while the new ensures a blissful stay.

In the lobby, the combination of gleaming white modernism and black volcanic base continues in the 114 suites, where minimalist luxury contrasts with ocean and ash views. All of the huge one- to three-bedroom suites are of the highest quality. Many have private heated pools, as well as wooden terraces and outdoor seating areas, dining tables, electric sunshades and soft beds for relaxing.

The Corales Beach Hotel (a neighboring sister hotel) also features 3 restaurants, 2 bars and pools, but only for guests aged 16 and over. The Michelin-recommended Il Bocconcino restaurant and the poolside Starfish Grill offer a la carte dining.
