The hotel is located right on Golden Bay Beach, one of Malta’s best beaches, where a wide stretch of golden sand slopes down to the clear blue sea. There are good coastal walks on both sides of the bay.

This is a large, modern resort hotel with a clean and sophisticated appearance, with spacious public areas occasionally decorated with contemporary art. Spacious lobbies and bars open onto terraces overlooking the sea.

There are 4 swimming pools on site – indoor and outdoor, including a children’s pool. The Myoka SPA, also with sea views through glass walls, offers wet and dry treatments under the guidance of professional therapists from China, India (Ayurveda) and Europe. The more active can head to the water sports center where you can enjoy diving, snorkeling, water skiing, paragliding and more.

During high season, there is a daily program of activities for adults and children, from yoga to countryside walks, from table tennis to pizza or cocktail making. Events are also held in winter if the hotel is at half capacity or more.

The comfortable rooms are practical in design, with wood-effect furnishings and a bright, modern style. They range from doubles (up to two adults and one child) to suites sleeping up to four, with private kitchens with granite/marble countertops.

Seven restaurants and bars offer plenty of choice (although not all are open year-round). There is also a cafe.

The Westin Hotel is located right on the seafront. On the land side of the hotel there are other large hotels, restaurants, fast food outlets, shops and a cinema, as well as bars and clubs in Paceville, Malta’s party capital. The hotel is secluded enough to avoid the noise of Paceville, but close enough to walk to all amenities.

At the center of the grand marble foyer is a monumental villa-style staircase leading to the pool terrace and restaurants. Comfortable chairs dot the interior, sun loungers line the palm-fringed pool terrace, and thatched umbrellas are scattered out to sea at the casual “beach club.”

Two large outdoor pools, hot tubs and a children’s pool overlook the sea. The hotel’s private beach is right at the water’s edge. Much of it is rocky, with access to clear, deep water, but there is also a small section of sandy cove, ideal for children, where you can paddle. The hotel’s entire coastline has been awarded Blue Flag status for water quality and environmental management.

An indoor heated pool and hot tub open from the spacious gym, and the beauty salon offers spa treatments. The hotel offers an extensive menu of water sports from diving to paragliding. The 24-hour Dragonara Casino, although independently owned, is also on site.

The 340 rooms in nine different categories are spacious, comfortable, well-maintained and meet the standards of a five-star chain. All rooms have TVs, tea/coffee making facilities and balconies, some with panoramic sea views. Most rooms can accommodate up to four people. Some rooms are pet friendly (no carpeting), although pets are not allowed in the pools. There are several two-bedroom suites (and one three-bedroom), as well as quite a few rooms with kitchenettes and one with a terrace and private hot tub.

The Westin has three bars and four restaurants serving a variety of Mediterranean cuisine.

The Hilton is part of the Portomaso complex, an elegant and modern estate with luxury private apartments, restaurants and Malta’s only skyscraper with a nightclub on the top floor. The complex is located on a rocky seashore. Taxis and rental cars are easily available, or you can sail your own yacht and moor in the harbour.

The large entrance hall with high ceilings is light and airy, decorated in white and cream tones, the living room leads out to a 180 degree terrace overlooking the pool and sea.

24 hour service with many amenities. Kind of like the Hotel California that you might never leave. There is a large well-equipped gym, an exercise studio (with classes), squash courts and a bike room for spin classes. The large indoor pool (overlooking the sea) is accompanied by a steam bath and sauna, as well as a cold plunge pool and a spacious hammam.

The nine spa treatment rooms have particularly comfortable massage beds and are staffed by very professional therapists, offering a wide range of massages and treatments.

Outside, the large curved main seawater pool has a man-made sand beach. Additional pools are for adults and younger children only, and the summer beach club next to the rocky shore has its own bar, water sports center, diving school and floodlit tennis courts.

The hotel is built almost into the bastion walls of Valletta between the capital and the sea. On one side of the hotel is Marsamxett Harbor and panoramic views of Manoel Island and Sliema, and on the other are the fortifications of Valletta, whose main gate (city gate) is just a few minutes’ walk away.

This is a large business style hotel with excellent facilities and a strange mix of European and Asian stylistic influences. The public areas are huge and decorated with a variety of objects, from replicas of Roman sculptures to elegant Chinese furniture, floral paintings and engravings of old Batavia, and carpets with almost psychedelic patterns. However, there are massive windows that offer stunning views of the harbor and surrounding area.

The hotel has the most extensive facilities of any hotel in or around Valletta, with a gym, spa, large indoor and outdoor pools, its own marina and plenty of space both indoors and out on the harborside terraces.

The rooms are spacious, modern but traditional in style. Those with sea views are particularly spacious and have French windows leading out onto private balconies, many of which are the size of small terraces overlooking the harbour. Most of these rooms have 200 degree views of the Valletta Bastion walls (beautifully lit at night) and the harbour.

The Excelsior Hotel has the most extensive buffet in Malta; huge spreads including products from all over the world. A huge buffet is offered every evening, as well as an a la carte menu.

There are two main restaurants, both with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the harbour. During the summer, the waterfront Tiki Bar and Yacht Club serves light lunches, grills and drinks. Inside, you can have a drink at the Harbor View Bar (yes, again with a gorgeous view) 24 hours a day if you want.

Well designed, inspired by the decks of a ship, the hotel is an oasis in the urban sprawl. Clean lines, angled planes, light wood and natural colors, as well as the occasional splash of bright abstract art, give it a feeling of lightness and calm. The hotel’s 30 upscale Highline Suites are located on two floors of the hotel’s top floor, designed in sleek, contemporary style in gray glass and glass.

The service is efficient, helpful and professional, suitable for both leisure and business clients. The SPA includes a large indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and hammam, as well as the largest gym in Malta with a wide range of exercise equipment, strength training equipment and a studio offering regular classes, and two squash courts.

There are two outdoor terraces, one with a large multi-part swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers; another with chairs and tables covered in lush greenery. The rooms are decorated in a modern style with light, fresh, earthy tones. Bathrooms have a bathtub and separate shower. Each room has a balcony overlooking the garden/pool terraces or the street. Rooms overlooking the terrace are quieter. Highline Suites feature contemporary, artistic photographs of Malta in gray and rich dark tones. They have Bang & Olufson sound systems and capsule coffee machines. Bathrooms feature glass walls, electric blinds, sleek stone sinks and spa baths. The room’s outer wall is also glass and leads out to a terrace with a double sofa and views (through a glass balustrade) of the city skyline and sea.

A full five-star breakfast buffet is served in the Harruba restaurant in the center of the hotel. There are five other restaurants (and six bars), from the Sicilian Paranga to the modern, understated Waterbiscuit bistro and the poolside Narcis. SkyHigh Restaurant, located on the 19th floor, serves creative cocktails with a view, while Skybeach offers high-end drinks, snacks and late-night grills next to the exclusive infinity pool.

Balluta Bay still retains something of what St Julian’s was before construction began (especially when viewed from rather than from the hotel), and in summer some imported sand creates a popular small beach for swimming. In less than 10 minutes’ walk you will reach Sliema’s seafront, where locals love to meet and stroll on summer evenings. In the other direction is the vibrant heart of St Julian’s and the party town of Paceville, full of bars, restaurants, clubs and fast food restaurants.

A feeling of spaciousness, large windows and plenty of natural light characterize the open-plan public spaces. The decor is neutral tones, accented by sea blue, lattice screens and local details such as the ceiling display in the foyer made from large Mdina teardrop glass. The indoor pool has its own character, surrounded by green plants and four huge pillars with bamboo pattern.

The very pleasant rooftop pool will allow you to find peace above the hustle and bustle, and the large indoor pool will provide the same feeling of tranquility throughout the year. In addition to relaxation, the Myoka SPA center with a sauna, hammam and large space offers a wide range of treatments – Oriental, European, as well as Ayurvedic – on very wide, ultra-comfortable beds. For the more active there is a large gym.

For those using Club rooms and suites, as well as select Marriott’s M Club members, there is an exclusive top-floor lounge surrounded by terraces, one of which overlooks the pool.

Each room has a balcony, and the interiors of the rooms are kept in neutral tones, with slats and local elements. Each room features a distinctive lamp with three pieces of Mdina blown glass, as well as wall tiles created by a local charity. In addition to the Club Rooms and Suites (on the two newly built upper floors), all rooms have toilets separate from the bathroom.

Breakfast is a large buffet with everything you would expect, including ripe fresh fruit and fully cooked items. The open-plan lobby features a bar and the 24-hour restaurant Atrio, serving both indoors and al fresco on the terrace, everything from burgers and pizza to delicious local sea bass with wild fennel, black quinoa and sauce verte.

Set in a traditional bayside villa with a charming terrace, The Villa’s gourmet restaurant serves Eurasian cuisine.

The hotel is located on a typical Valletta narrow street lined with limestone townhouses fronted by traditional gallarigs (Maltese painted wooden balconies), just one block from the Grand Harbour. At one end of the road is Fort Saint-Elmo, from the chivalric period (and the excellent National War Museum); in the other, the gardens of Upper Barrakka. Palazzo Consiglia is a five-minute walk from the center of Valletta and no more than 10 minutes from any of its attractions. A walk of the same length (albeit uphill) will take you to the island’s main bus station or ferries to Sliema and the Three Cities. Although many of Valletta’s streets are pedestrianized, taxis can reach the hotel’s front door.

The original courtyard has a retractable roof, making it warm in winter and spacious in summer. There is a lobby, a bar and an extension to the breakfast room (which occupies what was once a chapel). Historic features include a beautifully carved holy water basin in the chapel and a well in the courtyard, while the furnishings, wallpaper and lighting are an eclectic mix of modern design. Calm tones predominate – beige, brown and green, and the original stone stairs are softened by a red carpet.

For a hotel with only 13 rooms, Palazzo Consiglia offers remarkable facilities. The tranquil rooftop terrace, complete with decking, sun loungers and a charming plunge pool, overlooks the dome of the adjacent chapel. The original vaulted limestone cellar has been transformed into a warm, atmospheric spa, home to one of Malta’s leading spa companies. Guests have access to two additional soft beds for treatments, a comfortable relaxation area, as well as a steam bath and sauna. The two-century-old bell-shaped cistern – a water storage system that was mandatory in all Valletta houses from the chivalric period – has been transformed into a distinctive small heated swimming pool (with hydromassage jets).

A small, helpful staff staffs the reception 24 hours a day and also keeps the bar behind the reception open. Breakfast is unusually well stocked.

The individually decorated rooms are modern but traditional in style. From Romantica to Ecologica, Industriale to Maltija, most have wooden floors with light Persian-style rugs, free-standing wardrobes and efficient modern lighting.

All rooms have very comfortable king size beds and a choice of bath or shower. The windows face the courtyard or the street. Each room has a capsule coffee machine, TV and Bluetooth audio system (including in the bathroom).

Rich buffet breakfast. The bar also offers a small selection of food. And if you want to step outside the hotel door, there is an excellent selection of Valletta restaurants within two to ten minutes’ walk.

The hotel is located in the traditional Maltese fortified peninsular town of Senglea (also called Isla), built by the Knights of St John on the shores of the Grand Harbour. Senglea is one of three village-sized towns surrounding Dockyard Creek. Less than 10 minutes’ walk away is Birgu (Vittoriosa), with key attractions including Fort Sant’Angelo, the Military Museum of Malta and the Palace of the Inquisitor, as well as a delightful maze of medieval alleys, a marina and historic promenade, cafes and restaurants.

The hotel is less than 8 km from the airport by bus or car. There is parking next to the hotel. The ferry runs regularly across the Grand Harbor between the Three Cities and Valletta and stops just opposite the footbridge from the hotel. The Hop-on-hop-off tour bus stops nearby.

The top of Knight’s Sheer Bastion is now a roof terrace with spectacular views of the Three Cities, Dockyard Creek, Grand Harbor and Valletta. Directly below is a terrace with a large rooftop swimming pool. In summer, yoga, Pilates, water sports and personal trainers are available.

Customized offers including private tours and classic cars can be arranged from the hotel.

The limestone and slate theme continues in rooms and suites with cream or white walls and black slate bathrooms. The floors and designer furniture are made of light wood. The largest suites are more spacious than many two-bedroom apartments.

Hammett’s Restaurant/Bar on the ground floor serves an excellent made-to-order breakfast.

Hammett’s is an excellent restaurant with a wonderfully varied menu of small plates reflecting Maltese history and influences.

Inside, Turkish design studio Autoban has gone to great lengths to create eye-catching interiors. Original features are combined with modern works of art; furniture is made to order; state-of-the-art 24-hour gym with vaulted ceilings; the exquisite underground SPA center is a particularly popular place to relax in the scorching heat at the height of summer.

As each room is unique, accommodation options also vary widely, although most guests are won over by the two-bedroom Gallarija Grand Harbor View Residence, a spacious double-height space with a custom glass-fronted Maltese balcony and private kitchen where Iniala’s chefs can host spontaneous in-room parties.

On a clear day, from the rooftop terrace, guests can enjoy views stretching beyond the coastline and across the Mediterranean all the way to Sicily while sipping cocktails. With an appropriately old-school feel, this family-run hotel is intimate and welcoming, perhaps due to its small number of rooms.

With only 17 rooms, the team makes a special effort to get to know guests. These rooms vary widely, with quaint modern embellishments (perhaps a freestanding bathtub in gleaming silver or a private terrace with an outdoor Jacuzzi) mixed with original details, stately old paintings and plenty of other antiques. Popular with families, the split-level Presidential Suite features a cozy living room with a balcony, dining table for six and beautiful high ceilings.

Couples with something to celebrate should reserve a table at the Michelin-starred restaurant de Mondion, where exemplary contemporary Mediterranean cuisine is exquisitely crafted and consistently delicious. (If you want something more casual, Trattoria AD 1530 on the ground floor serves pizza and pasta on the edge of a quiet square)

To make the most of Malta’s warm weather, dine at any of the Kempinski’s three restaurants – all three have spacious terraces, ideal for enjoying languid al fresco meals on sultry evenings. The diverse inventory of 137 rooms means the adaptable hotel attracts multi-generational bookings, groups of friends and the occasional wedding party, as well as couples and families.

Take full advantage of Gozo’s Mediterranean climate in a spacious three-bedroom apartment which has a huge south-facing terrace with direct access to the swimming pools. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen that the resort’s chefs can use to cater for house parties.

Although one of the area’s most famous landmarks no longer exists – the natural stone arch that stretched from the coastline, the Azure Window, collapsed into the sea in 2017 – the impressive Dwejra Marine Reserve, with its salt pans and well-known dive sites, awaits. who wants to explore the resort’s boundaries.
