Hiroshima, Japan

Another highlight is nearby Miyajima Island with its iconic “floating” torii gate, while the city’s food scene is best known for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki.

Fukuoka, Japan
Fukuoka combines Kyushu’s relaxed atmosphere with vibrant city life. Stroll through Ohori Park, see the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, and explore the Hakata district with its temples, shopping streets, and local markets. The city is especially famous for its food scene, led by Hakata tonkotsu ramen, as well as mentaiko, yakitori, and other regional specialties. If time allows, the day can also include a visit to Nokonoshima Island, known for its gardens and coastal views.

Busan, South Korea
Busan blends a vibrant seaside atmosphere with Buddhist traditions and the energy of a modern city. Visit Jagalchi Fish Market for fresh seafood, explore Beomeosa Temple in the mountains, and spend time along Haeundae Beach. For a more active experience, hike Geumjeongsan for panoramic views over the city and sea. Nagasaki, Japan

Kagoshima, Japan
Kagoshima, in southern Kyushu, is known for its volcanic landscapes, samurai heritage, and close connection to nature. Stroll through Sengan-en Garden with views of Kagoshima Bay and Sakurajima, visit the Shimadzu clan museum, or head to the volcano’s observation points. The day can also include hot springs or a scenic cruise around the bay. Local specialties include kurobuta pork, satsuma-age, and traditional shochu.

Day at Sea
