Day 1
  • Arrival in Mexico City

Meeting at the Airport.

Transfer and accommodation in a 4* Astor / Royal Reforma hotel or similar.

Free evening to relax after the flight.

 

Day 2
  • Mexico City sightseeing tour - Museum of Anthropology and Pyramids of the Sun and Moon (Teotihuacan), 140 km

Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world with a population of about 23 million people. It is the most populous city in the Americas and the largest Spanish-speaking metropolis. Like all big cities, Mexico City is a city of contrasts: glass and reinforced concrete skyscrapers neighbor with slums, wide avenues are replaced by narrow bumpy streets.

During the tour you will visit the main square of the country – Socalo, the largest square in Latin America, where the National Palace with frescoes by Diego Rivera, the Cathedral and the archaeological zone Templo Mayor are located.

Drive along Avenida Reforma, the main thoroughfare 12 kilometers long. Visit to the famous Anthropological Museum, where unique Mayan and Aztec artifacts are on display, including the original Aztec calendar.

After a city tour – a trip to Teotihuacan, “the place where gods are born”. Inspection of the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, a walk along the Road of the Dead, acquaintance with the legends and mysteries of the ancient city.

Return to the hotel 4*.

Day 3
  • Colonial city of Puebla (130 km) - Cactus Reserve - Colonial city of Oaxaca (345 km)

Transfer to Puebla, surrounded by four volcanoes, among them Popocatepetl and Istaxihuatl.
The guide will tell the Aztec legends of the Princess Ista and the warrior Popo.

Tour of the colonial center: Rosario Chapel, Santo Domingo Monastery, City Cathedral. Familiarization with culinary traditions: mole poblano and chiles en nogada.

Next – a scenic drive through the Cactus Reserve. Transfer to Oaxaca. Evening walk through the historical center. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 4
  • Oaxaca - Monte Alban (10 km) - “El Tule” tree - mescal tasting - Tehuantepec (255 km)

After breakfast, excursion to the archaeological zone of Monte Alban, one of the oldest cities in Mesoamerica, founded by the Zapotecs back in the 5th century BC. Monte Alban was the most important political and cultural center of the region, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Then transfer to the village of Santa Maria del Tule, where the unique El Tule tree grows – the largest tree in the world by volume with a trunk circumference of about 42 meters. According to legend, the tree was planted by a priest in honor of the god of wind.

Next, a visit to a traditional mescal factory. You will be introduced to the process of making the drink, the differences between mescal and tequila, and the tradition of adding maguey larvae to the bottles. Tasting of mescal.

Transfer to the city of Tehuantepec.

Day 5
  • Tehuantepec - Pacific coast - Sumidero Canyon (375 km) - San Cristobal de las Casas (60 km)

Early departure. Transfer to Sumidero Canyon in the state of Chiapas, one of the most beautiful natural monuments of Mexico. Here you will have a motorboat ride on the Grijalva River, among steep cliffs up to 1000 meters high. Along the way – watching wildlife: crocodiles, birds and monkeys.

After the excursion – transfer to San Cristobal de las Casas, a colonial town with the atmosphere of a European mountain settlement, combining the architecture of the times of Spanish rule and local Indian flavor. In the evening – free time for a walk along the picturesque streets.

Day 6
  • San Cristóbal de las Casas - San Juan Chamula (15 km) - waterfall - Palenque (190 km)

In the morning, drive to the village of San Juan Chamula, inhabited by the Tzotzil Indians, where the locals still observe ancient rituals combining Catholicism with traditional Mayan beliefs. Visit to a unique church where unusual rituals with chickens, candles and prayers are performed.

After the tour, transfer to Palenque through picturesque wooded areas. Along the way, stop at one of the waterfalls for a rest and photo pause.
Arrival in Palenque, accommodation in a 4* hotel.

Day 7
  • Palenque - Gulf Coast - Campeche (365 km)

Morning visit to the archaeological zone of Palenque, one of the most important cities of the Classic Maya period.
Excursion to the main monuments: the Temple of Inscriptions (the tomb of Pacal), the Palace, the Temple of the Sun and the ancient aqueduct.

Next – transfer to Campeche, an ancient port city on the Gulf of Mexico, known for its well-preserved colonial architecture, fortress walls and colorful houses. Walk through the historical center.

Day 8
  • Campeche - Ushmal (160 km) - Mérida (85 km)

After breakfast transfer to the archaeological area of Ushmal – one of the greatest monuments of the Mayan civilization. Here you will see the Temple of the Wizard (a unique oval pyramid), the Palace of the Ruler, the Women’s Monastery and the Court of the Doves.

Next – transfer to Mérida, the “white city”, the capital of the state of Yucatán.
In the evening – a walk through the colonial center. Accommodation in a 4* hotel.

Day 9
  • Mérida - Chichen Itza (130 km) - Ik-Kil Cenote - Cancun/Maya Riviera (220-280 km)

After breakfast departure to Chichen Itza – the majestic Mayan city, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Tour of the complex: Pyramid of Kukulkan, Observatory, Ball Field, Temple of Jaguars, Sacred Cenote.

After the tour – bathing in the picturesque cenote Ik-Kil, one of the most beautiful karst lakes of Yucatan.
Transfer to the Caribbean coast. Accommodation in a selected hotel in Cancun or Riviera Maya.

Days 10–13
  • Beach Holiday on the Caribbean Coast

Free days for relaxation on the white sandy beaches of Riviera Maya or Playa del Carmen.
Accommodation at the hotel under the “All-Inclusive” concept.

You can spend your time swimming, enjoying water sports, taking excursions around the Yucatán Peninsula, or shopping in the resort towns.

Day 13
  • Return Home

Breakfast at the hotel.
At the appointed time — transfer to Cancun International Airport.
Check-in for the flight and departure home.
