You land at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), where your personal driver meets you and takes you on a private transfer to Arusha. This marks the beginning of your journey into the heart of East Africa — a town surrounded by coffee plantations with views of Mount Meru, serving as the gateway to Tanzania’s legendary national parks. You settle into Arusha Coffee Lodge, nestled within a working coffee plantation, and spend your first evening unwinding after the flight. Dinner at the lodge features fresh, locally sourced dishes set against a tropical garden backdrop.
After breakfast, a private transfer takes you to the airstrip for your scheduled flight deep into Northern Serengeti, to Kogatende. Even from the air, endless golden plains unfold beneath you, crossed by hundreds of thousands of animals during the Great Migration.
Your personal guide meets you upon arrival, and the first wildlife sightings begin right on the drive to camp. You stay at Sayari Camp, one of the region’s most acclaimed camps, offering direct access to the Mara River — the setting for one of the migration’s most dramatic scenes, the crocodile-infested river crossings.
A full day exploring the Mara River basin with your private guide, who tracks herd movements daily and plans each drive around where the action is. Departure times remain flexible — you might set out at dawn to catch a wildebeest crossing, or head out at dusk to watch the savannah glow in warm evening light. Your private 4×4 heads south, turning the drive itself into part of the safari, with fresh landscapes and wildlife sightings along the way. You arrive at Namiri Plains — a region especially prized for its concentration of big cats: lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Accommodation here is on an all-inclusive basis.
A full day of private game drives across Central Serengeti and the plains surrounding Namiri. This region is renowned for its predator density, offering strong chances to witness a lion pride on the hunt or cheetahs scanning for prey from termite mounds. Your guide sets the day’s pace to your preference — from extended stationary sightings to more active exploration between locations.
Dawn greets you from above — a hot air balloon flight over the Serengeti offers a bird’s-eye view of the migration, followed by the traditional champagne breakfast set out on the savannah after landing. In the afternoon, you transfer to the Ngorongoro highlands, where you’ll stay at Ngorongoro Lodge (Meliá Collection) with crater views, followed by dinner.
